Do I need a military ID or pass to go on base to see the museum?

No. The museum hangars and grounds are located outside Ellsworth Air Force Base.

The bus tour does take place on Ellsworth Air Force Base, and due to security requirements set by the Air Force, bus tour guests (18 years of age and older) must show a driver’s license, state issued ID or passport. In addition, US citizens are required to provide their Social Security number. Bus tour guests will be required to pass a security check before entering EAFB.

What is the cost to enter the museum?

Museum Admission is free.
Bus tours are $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 12 and under. Groups of 10 or more are $5.00 each.

What are the hours of operation?

Museum Hours
Off Season Hours: 8:30 – 4:30 September 4th, 2007 through June 1st, 2008
Peak Season Hours: 8:30 – 6:00 June 2nd, 2008 through September 1st, 2008

Mid-May through mid-September

The museum is located approximately 7 miles east of Rapid City on Interstate I-90.
