Dakota Thunder Air Show

The Dakota Thunder Air Show and Open House will be taking place this August at Ellsworth Air Force Base. The event is scheduled for August 15th and 16th and is free to the public. Performers will include the USAF Thunderbirds and the Army Golden Knights. Many different aircraft will also be available as static displays, including the stationed B-1B Lancer, the C-5 Galaxy, the A-10 Warthog, and a B-2 Spirit.

The gates to Ellsworth Air Force Base will be opened to the public at 9:00 AM, and the Air Show will begin at 10:00 AM. The event will continue throughout the day until 4:00 PM. The South Dakota Air and Space Museum will also be hosting a booth at the Pride Hangar during the event, so be sure to check us out!

The SD Air and Space Museum will not be offering bus tours of the Minuteman II missile silo during the event, but the museum's exhibits and galleries will all remain open on normal hours during the Air Show.
