Xeriscape Landscaping Project

 – By

The South Dakota Air and Space Museum is proud to announce that the Xeriscape landscaping project is in the initial phases and changes can already be seen!

Please excuse the appearance of our airpark as the project progresses. Thank you for your support and understanding.

What is Xeriscape?

Xeriscape promotes creative approaches to water conserving landscapes by helping people improve their landscapes to reduce the need for water, maintenance and other resources.

Why Xeriscape? For most of the western United States, over fifty percent of residential water used is applied to landscape and lawns. Xeriscape can reduce landscape water use.

Efficient water use doesn't mean changing our lifestyle. It means reducing water waste, such as improper irrigation, and finding ways to achieve attractive, comfortable landscapes without excess water use.

This project will make the SD Air and Space Museum better neighbors with our community. It will also beautify our airpark and help our recently restored F-102 Delta Dagger find a home among our exhibits.
